ERN Coordinators Group Meeting in Rome, May 2025

The 22nd meeting of the 24 ERN Coordinators with the European Commission’s DG SANTE team was held at the Italian Ministry of Health’s offices in Rome on 21 May 2025.

ERN CRANIO was represented in person by Prof. dr. Irene Mathijssen (ERN CRANIO Coordinator) and Inga Bos (ERN CRANIO Project Manager). Ikram L'khssim (ERN CRANIO Project Manager) joined remotely.

As usual, there was a full agenda. Key points included:

• Identifying and sharing ERN best practices

• Annual monitoring and data collection – the EC plans to publish the latest round of 2024 data

• A celebration of the implementation of CPMS 2.0

• A report from the Knowledge Working Group

• A discussion on the expansion of ERN disease areas

• A presentation of options for a decision by the Board of Member States (BoMS) on a restricted call for Affiliated Partners (appointed by the BoMS to join ERNs where no member currently exists in a given country), versus a full call for new members to join ERNs

  
  

A joint meeting between the ERN Coordinators and the BoMS was held on 22 May 2025. This combined format is a new approach designed to foster closer collaboration between the two groups.
