On 5–6 June, ERN CRANIO had the pleasure of hosting the first in-person Cross-ERN OR Nurses Meeting at Erasmus Medical Center in Rotterdam. The event brought together 15 OR nurses from across Europe, representing ERN CRANIO, ERNICA, and ERN eUROGEN, for two days of sharing experiences, exploring national differences, and shaping ideas for future collaboration.

The programme included tours of Erasmus MC’s OR suites, ICU, and Central Sterile Services, as well as collaborative sessions focused on key themes such as:

  • Wellbeing and communication in the OR team

  • Training pathways across countries

  • Safety checks and daily instruments in use

Ramona Capelli (Papa Giovanni XXIII Hospital, Bergamo) reflected:

“One of the most rewarding and enriching professional experiences I have had so far.”

Michela Carera added:

“It was not only a work meeting—it was important even for human relationships.”

We’re grateful to all participants for their energy and input, and especially to ERN eUROGEN and ERNICA for their collaboration.

We look forward to building on this strong start and continuing the momentum for cross-ERN nursing collaboration!
